February ICLW

I decided to participate in ICLW for the first time in a long time. I'm glad to be participating and hoping to visit some new blogs this week.

My name is Liz. I'm 31 and married to my husband W who is 33. I am a speech-language pathologist that worked with pediatrics but am mainly home with my 17 month twin girls Lucy and Clara at this time. I do occasional evaluations, but thats only a few times a month. My husband is a physical therapist that works with the other end of the age spectrum, geriatrics.

It took us 2 1/2 years of fertility treatments including 5 fresh IVF cycles and 4 FET cycles to get the girls. I love being able to spend every day with them and to be able to watch them constantly change and grow. Most recently I found out W and I got pregnant spontaneously with baby #3, on a cycle a ovulated from my ovary that doesn't have a tube. It was super surprising given our history. We instantly started working with our reproductive immunologist again and got on a lot of the same medications I was on with my successful pregnancy with the girls. I had my second ultrasound yesterday and the baby had a nice strong heartbeat at 160 beats per minute and was measuring 8w3d.

I usually like to ask questions to others for ICLW. That way it makes commenting super easy.

Do you have any vacations planned in the near future or have you recently been on vacation?
W and I are planning to bring the girls to Cancun in April and I can't wait!

Do you have any projects started that need to be finished?
I started a quilt for my sister and I really need to work on it some. I'm struggling since I've only ever made baby quilts and didn't realize how much more work a queen sized quilt would be. I'm not exactly super motivated to finish it.

What's the last book you really loved?
It's been a while since I read it but I really loved The Light Between Oceans.

I'm looking forward to visiting and commenting on some new blogs and hoping to find some new ones to follow. I'm glad to be participating again.

  1. Hi Liz :)
I'm Heather, I love in the UK. I have an almost 3 year old daughter and have been TTC #2 for the last 6 months (including an early loss in December). Vacations - I am off to visit friends in Germany over Easter and family in France in early June. Depending on whether or not I am pregnant, we might go away in October also. Projects - I have a ton! I love trying out different crafts so I have a quilt made out of my DD's baby clothes to finish, a huge Geisha cross stitch which I have been working on for over a year and various little crochey projects. Books - I don't get to read as often as I would like, I think the last books I read all the way through were the Divergent trilogy! Anyway hope all continues to go well with the new addition. L & C are totally adorable x

  2. hello from ICLW! Congrats on #3 and a great recent ultrasound!! Wishing you a happy&healthy (and uneventful) next 9 months!!

My son is 19 months old - this age (like your daughters) is one of the cutest so far! =P

One of the best books I've ever read is Jodi Picoult's Leaving Time (blogged about it a few days/weeks back) - made me sob, and curse out loud! A-MAZING and highly recommended- but be sure to have tissues!

  4. Hi! I am from ICLW and this is my first time participating.
My daughter is 16 months and I am 24 weeks pregnant.
Would LOVE to go on a vacation overseas (I'm in Australia) and take my little girl before her baby brother comes along, but it will be a hassle trying to get a passport for her without her Dad's consent. Also, as my daughter was 8 weeks early I'm too scared to plan anything now in case Little Mister decides to make an early appearance too.

Congrats on #3 - hope everything continues to go well.

  5. Congrats on #3! I just got a positive test yesterday for hopefully #2 so I am hoping to get a good doubling beta number on Weds.

We just went to Spain over Christmas and had a great time! I was surprised at how well my daughter did with all of the travel.

    Here from ICLW.

  6. The Light Between Oceans is one of my favourite books...and when I found it, I had no idea what it was about so that was even more of a surprise. Congrats on #3!
